Case: Siri Redesign
A redesign of Siri as part of a group project for the course "Responsible AI and Society" with the purpose to re-design a mockup for more user-friendly experience.
Before
After conducting a team-driven AI audit for an academic course, we discovered user pain points for the current Siri display and settings
Display
Users were unhappy that conversation history could not be accessed
Users did not click the ">" button to edit their speech input
Users were confused about how to pause and end current session

Settings

Users did not scroll to access all tabs encasing Siri settings
Users were unsure which settings pertained to what category (e.g. display versus data)
After
As part of a comprehensive recommendation report, we redesigned the Siri display and proposed to reinstate a new Siri app

Display
Add option to expand current conversation session to increase accessibility
Add "edit input" and "expand conversation" as separate icon buttons for users to see the function each button represents
Add "speaking/pause" slider button and "end" button for users to easily distinguish between buttons visually and tactiley
App
Siri as its own app could offer:
Central location for controls
Access to conversation history
Transparency about setting functions
Enhanced organization
Intuitive user taskflow
Increased understanding of options
